My Psychotherapy Practice & Philosophy

You will find a private and confidential setting where you can feel safe to explore your concerns and reasons for seeking therapy. My work involves collaborating with individuals to identify goals which will continually be referenced throughout the course of therapy in order to know that progress is being made. Respect, genuineness, empathy and acceptance provide the backdrop of my practice; a place where you can truly express yourself and be accurately understood.

I believe that people do the best they can to solve the problems in life, but often get stuck in patterns of behavior, emotional reactions and thinking that interfere with their growth and happiness. In our work together, you can develop the necessary skills to better understand yourself and become open to new possibilities. Depending on your specific goals, treatment is individually tailored to find solutions for your concerns, improve your ability to manage ongoing symptoms, discover new ways to handle relationships, and change self defeating habits in order to cultivate improved overall well-being.

To best meet your needs, I will draw from a wide range of techniques and interventions over the course of therapy. Accordingly, I am flexible and practical in my approach and will be responsive to the type and style of therapy that will best suit you. Specifically, the methods I find most useful are humanistic, existential, solution focused and mindfulness based therapies.

Given my generalist training and professional experiences, I welcome the opportunity to work with individuals who have diverse circumstances and concerns. My specialty areas include the following:

    • Depression and Bipolar Mood Disorder
    • Anxiety Disorders
    • Life transitions (college, career, divorce, parenting)
    • Relationship concerns (marriage, friendship, family, dating)
    • Stress management
    • Self esteem
    • Eating Disorders and Weight management concerns
